Chicken Salad Sandwich

Ingredients

 

  • 2 cups cooked chicken (shredded or diced)
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard (or yellow mustard, if preferred)
  • 1/4 cup celery, finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices whole-grain bread
  • Optional: Lettuce or spinach leaves for extra crunch
  • Optional: Sliced pickles for garnish

Method

    1. Prepare the chicken salad:
      • In a medium-sized bowl, combine the cooked chicken (shredded or diced) with the mayonnaise, mustard, and chopped celery.
      • Stir until well mixed. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
    2. Assemble the sandwich:
      • Lay out the slices of whole-grain bread on a clean surface.
      • Spread a generous amount of the chicken salad mixture on one slice of bread.
      • If you like, add a layer of fresh lettuce or spinach leaves for extra crunch and freshness.
    3. Top and serve:
      • Place the second slice of bread on top to close the sandwich.
      • Optionally, you can garnish the sandwich with a couple of slices of pickles for an extra kick of flavor.
